WATCH: Ella and the school choir sing to 5000 at the Royal Albert Hall

On Monday March 26th, 29 members of our school choir travelled to London to take part in a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. The choir has been taking part in a ‘choir creation’ project since January. This has consisted of five workshops with the artistic director of the Armonico Consort, Christopher Monks.

Throughout the rehearsal process, Christopher heard one of our year 10 music students sing a solo, and at this point Ella began her journey to the Royal Albert Hall. Ella was selected out of the 2,100 choir singers taking part to sing a solo at the Royal Albert Hall.

On the day Ella had the privilege of meeting HRH the Duke of Kent who sat in the Royal Box for the performance. She was also introduced to Mark Williams a.k.a. Arthur Weasley, who was also part of the concert.

Ella sang beautifully to 5000 people, giving the audience goosebumps.

The choir were amazing, and it was a complete privilege to stand alongside them and sing.

It was a truly special day that the students will cherish memories from for a lifetime.
