Caludon’s Year 9 rugby team got their season underway at the annual 10s tournament hosted by Finham Park School.
Caludon’s first game was an extremely tight affair, which ended in a 0-0 draw against eventual tournament winners, President Kennedy.
The second match saw Caludon begin the game on the front foot, playing some excellent rugby. Caludon raced into a 10-5 lead against the hosts Finham Park, however Finham’s physicality and strong running began to take its toll, as they equalised the scores to 15-15, before taking the lead 20-15 with the last play of the match.
For the final match, Caludon showed great resilience to bounce back from defeat with a 15-5 win over Coundon Court School. Great individual performances throughout the tournament from player of the tournament – Braydon Andreasson.
Next up for our Year 9s is a tough fixture away against Bablake School on Tuesday 17th September.
