Year 7

During this important transition year students will be guided by the Year 7 team: Mr Holland (Year Leader), Mrs Rayns (Deputy Headteacher), Mr Frankish (Progress Leader), Mr Buckingham (Assistant Principal Leader of Learning) and Mrs Lakin (Student Welfare Officer). The students are also supported by their tutors.

An excellent attendance record is important to ensure success at Caludon. We expect all students to achieve at least 96% attendance. Holidays during term time are not authorised.

All students attend school in full uniform. Students should wear a white shirt; clip on Caludon tie, black blazer (with Caludon badge), black trousers and plain black shoes or trainers. Some girls choose to wear a black skirt which must be knee length and not figure hugging.

The Curriculum

All students at Caludon follow a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum. Students have a guided choice of subjects to take at both GCSE Level and in equivalent qualifications.

We celebrate student achievement whenever we can and, to this end, we run a graduation system. This allows students to receive rewards at the end of each half term for the following achievements:

  • at least ‘good’ attendance and punctuality
  • at least a bronze award in the Attitude to Learning (effort) grades
  • maintaining an acceptable level of behaviour
  • contribution to the school or wider community

The rewards planned include a Year 7 disco and an inter-form bench-ball tournament.
