“Hard work + Dedication = Success”

Caludon Castle students are delighted with their GCSE results, and long queues formed for our sixth form enrolment, following the best ever A level results for the school. Those students who opted to follow the apprenticeship route were also successful.

We are pleased with our students’ results despite more demanding GCSE exams this year. In particular, of those students who gained 9 GCSES, Brindan Tharmeseelan achieved  8 GCSEs at the highest possible grades (8 and 9s), and  Isobel Edmondson and Anthony Nghiem celebrated with 7 GCSEs at this outstanding level.

Improving on last year’s above average results, over two thirds of our students gained passes (4+/C+) in both English and Maths. In addition, there was an increase in the strong passes (5+) in English and maths. English maintained excellent outcomes with 83% of students achieving at least a pass grade once again this year. Notable successes were seen in Geography and Languages.

Best Results Ever for Caludon Sixth formers!!

We are extremely proud of the success of our students whose results are the best we have ever had. Over 150 year 13 students took a range of level 3 qualifications, predominantly A Levels. 100% of those students achieved A*-E in all of their subjects, with over 55% of the grades being A*to B.

We are very proud of the hard work and dedication of all our students. The value added score is positive, indicating that students, on average, have outperformed their target grades which are based on their GCSE results. This reflects the commitment for each and every student to maximise their individual potential and the efforts of both staff and students to support their success.

Particularly outstanding results were achieved by Jay Cranston who gained A* grades in History and English Literature and an A in Maths, and will read Law at Cambridge University; Priyam Bhakta who achieved A* grades in Maths, Chemistry and an A grade in Further Maths and will read Maths at Birmingham University; Pavneet Dhaliwal also achieved grade A*s in Psychology and Sociology and an A grade in Biology and will read Psychology at Aston University. Notably, over a quarter of all grades were an A or A* and several of our students achieved either all A grades or at least one A*.

Our students are now prepared for their next steps whether this is employment, apprenticeships or university. Despite the national decline in applications to higher education, well over 100 students have a place at university. They are going on to study a wide range of courses including the traditional: Nursing, Geography, Maths, Psychology, Law and Biology, to the contemporary, including Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security, Computer Animation, Radiotherapy and Oncology. They are a credit to themselves and Caludon Castle Sixth form.
