On Tuesday 18 June, after 10 weeks of intense planning and designing, STEM club competed at Staffordshire University with their Go4Set projects.
Three groups of Year 8 and 9 students and 1 group of Year 10 students wowed the judges and came away with a tremendous 4 awards!
Theo Smith, Drew Lancaster and Elana Ha won the innovation award for their “Re-co Eco-Factory” project. Caden Hadley, Dylan Smith, Ben Adams, Ryan Cooke and Eddie Roberts-Dalton won the overall Go4Set winner for the West Midlands Region with their “Project Thames Eco-factory project”.
Finally, Daniel Harrison, Fjori Dautaj and Ayomide Akinsinmide won “Best overall project” and “Scientist of the year” award for their project into the development of mental illness in the frontal lobe.
They worked very diligently throughout their whole project and will now be representing the whole of West Midlands in their ongoing project as they further their hypothesis and publish a research paper.
