Mrs Webb, Nicole and I introduced the reading leaders scheme yesterday and we were amazed. The students eagerly hung off our every word; it was a desperate attempt to do well, and boy did they impress us!

After the shortest of explanations, the 8/9 year old students showed their natural leadership qualities by taking on the role of reading coaches. We are certain that the scheme will continue, with these students, long after we have left.

In the afternoon, I taught a grade 7 class literacy skills. We explored different tenses and sentence constructions and the children responded with great enthusiasm and gratitude. They have an important exam next week, similar to SATs, and the work helped to clarify their understanding.

The bond of friendship displayed in this photograph needs no further captioning. Simply beautiful.
